About ADAS
ADAS stands for "Advanced Driver Assistance Systems." ADAS refers to a group of safety features and technologies installed in modern vehicles to assist drivers and enhance overall safety on the road. These systems use various sensors, cameras, radars, and other technologies to provide real-time information about the vehicle's surroundings and help the driver in various driving scenarios.
Some common ADAS features include:
1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Automatically adjusts the vehicle's speed to maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle ahead.
2. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA): Warns the driver if the vehicle drifts out of its lane and may even assist in steering the vehicle back into the lane.
3. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB): Alerts the driver to potential frontal collisions and, in some cases, applies brakes autonomously to prevent or mitigate collisions.
4. Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM): Uses sensors to detect vehicles in the driver's blind spots and provides warnings when changing lanes.
5. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA): Warns the driver of approaching vehicles or pedestrians when reversing out of a parking space.
6. Parking Assistance Systems: Includes features like automatic parallel parking or 360-degree camera views to aid in parking.
7. Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): Detects and displays speed limits, stop signs, and other road signs on the vehicle's instrument cluster.
8. Driver Drowsiness Monitoring: Monitors driver behavior to detect signs of fatigue or inattentiveness and issues alerts to prevent potential accidents.
